Ideally suited for anyone with a desire for a motorcycle that doesn't demand the services of a chiropractor, who likes the aggressive off-road styling and has at least a 40-inch inside leg measurement, the Ducati Multistrada is indeed the cock of the walk.
Obviously, owner Nick Czeroc thinks so due to his ownership of just such a motorcycle, although without gliding a tape measure up the inside leg of his Levi's I'll merely confirm that Nick isn't in the short-ass club.
Ducati aficionado and leading light of the Coastal Ducati Club here in the Sunshine State, Nick earns a crust as a jeweler/watchmaker, a calling that requires a great deal of precision and patience, and obvious if you cast an eye over his more-modified-than-it-looks 2004 Ducati Multistrada. Very obvious changes are the move of the front fender from its conventional location close to the tire to a much more off-road position under the bottom triple and the Silmotor 2-1-2 underseat exhaust system necessitating rejetted stock carburetors with distinctive Unipod air filters. Not so obvious is the abbreviated fuel tank that Nick shortened by a full 8 inches.
With much of the electrickery concealed by the previously larger fuel tank, Nick relocated most of the associated wiring into the now-defunct airbox and "lost" the turn signals by integrating the rears into the LED taillight and the fronts into the tuff-looking Acerbis hand guards. An Acerbis headlight fairing completes the picture at the front, along with ATV low-braced aluminum handlebars and clear plastic-covered stainless steel braided brake and clutch lines. Stainless steel braided lines were also part of the engine makeover as were very cool SpeedyMoto billet cam belt covers and the Cycle Cat open clutch with powdercoated pressure plate and billet-aluminum clutch spring retainers.
