Almost overnight the Hayabusa created the custom sportbike scene, and to this day no bike on the planet has hosted more bling or performance upgrades than the mighty 'Busa.
With such extreme power and poise you'd think this particular rig was months in the making. But such isn't the case, as Jack McCoy of Full Throttle Motorsports explained, "We've got a handful of similar 'Busas in stock that anyone can order and have in their garage the next week."
Having the manpower to crank out rigs of this caliber is anything but the norm. But then again, normal is hardly a term capable of describing this bike.
There's 418 HP at the rear rubber thanks to the RCC Stage 2 turbo kit, water injection and forged JE internals. Pretty nasty.
Out back is a Roaring Toyz four-inch over outside drive swingarm that holds a 330 RC Components wheel. The stock paint remains, but a Hotbodies undertail and a Sportech screen landed a spot to keep it hot.
OUTSIDE DRIVE
What MJ is to basketball the 300 Outside Drive Swingarm is to custom bikes-they changed the game. Before its advent, the only reliable way to tuck a 330 tire was with a jackshaft swingarm (two chains) that required at least an eight-inch stretch to accommodate the hardware. This not only made for a poor handling rig, but more moving parts meant more problems. Big power broke them and chain alignment was difficult.
In the winter of '08 Roaring Toyz introduced its Outside Drive Kit that required only a four-inch stretch to tuck a 330 tire, was 500+ HP capable and didn't require the usual maintenance. For more info check out www.roaringtoyz.com.
