Custom 2010 BMW S1000RR

When Roaring Toyz set out to build the world's first custom BMW S1000RR it had no idea how the bike would be received. Would people like it? Would they even know what it was? While RT was hoping the S1000RR would appeal to the masses, it was too busy trying to finish the build for Atlantic Beach Bike Fest to think twice.

"We were able to adapt the BMW to the swingarm and complete the build in roughly two months. We jammed to finish it just before Bike Fest," Robert Fisher of Roaring Toyz explained.

"Pro golfer Paul Azinger is an avid motorcycle enthusiast who saw the BMW several times at my shop as it was being built. After Bike Fest he came back to look at it again and decided he had to have it," Fisher recalled.

Although Azinger already owned a stock S1000RR, when he saw the customized version he immediately traded his stocker plus some cash for the one-off beauty.

The combo of flashy paint and one-of-a-kind components might suggest it's a one-time wonder. But you'd be wrong-Roaring Toyz has already got the extended swingarm in production and can cut them to retain the stock wheelbase or extend it beyond five-inches over (as this one is).

"Believe it or not, adapting the swingarm to the BMW was no harder than most of the other Japanese bikes. It's only eight pounds heavier than the stock piece, which is pretty nice too," Fisher said.

The trick swingarm is the crown jewel of the build, as it allows you to admire the different lines of the bike not seen with the stock setup. Alongside the rear of the year, RT also added custom mirrors, an undertail, billet levers and a new pair of Performance Machine Platinum Cut wheels. Fisher aptly described the PM hoops as "motorcycle jewelry" that photos cannot do justice to, and we'd say his assessment is spot-on.

Along with the custom bits and cool parts, the radical paint just might take the cake-it's got more flake than a chopped out street rod.

"We decided to stick with a flaked red and mild graphics since we wanted it to appeal to a wide audience. If you get too wild, people either love it or hate it. In this case the bike was received well," Fisher explained.

While we can all agree this Bimmer has got the show, what about the go?

"The stock bike was already super fast, but we added the Brock's full system and it's just insane. Even with the stretch the thing still power wheelies in third gear, which is saying something for a stretched custom!" Fisher said.

The S1000RR has successfully proven it has the most insane motor on the road, but now with a custom coat does it have enough to dethrone the Hayabusa as the king of customs?

"The 'Busa is a big bike that is a good cruiser, while the BMW is just a different bike all together. It's not a cruiser-it just wants to go fast. If you're looking for the top dog of performance, the BMW is definitely a 'Busa beater," Fisher said.
