The actress Gwyneth Paltrow was once quoted as saying, "Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick."
That quote seems to reflect what Nicki Guido's "Vibrance Hot Lip" GSX-R600 is all about. Nicki explained how her little red rocket came to be: "I bought it brand new in 2007 and it stayed stock for only three months. For starters, the stock colors had to go. My fiancé, Tom, does custom painting so we sanded everything down and went to work."
The dynamic duo didn't stop there though. In order to give it a bit of tough love tiny skulls were added. "During yet another boring and cold New York winter we stripped the bike down and airbrushed over 100 skulls on the bike, including my split personality windshield and demon rear cover. I couldn't stand to spend money on wheels that everyone else already had, so over the course of a three-day weekend, Tom and I scuffed the wheels down and he airbrushed them to match the bike."
All the sanding, scuffing and sweating paid off as the bike was put on display for PPG Paint during a recent show. It just goes to show that a little bit of time, talent and teamwork is sometimes all it takes to turn a frog into a princess.
