Sticking out from the swarm...
Sticking out from the swarm is far less about dollars spent and far more about how you spend your dollars.
Custom painted, show-style bike builds can quickly get out of control and not only cost the owner a load of cash, but also render the bike useless. Oscar Smith didn’t let that happen to his ride though. His 2008 Suzuki GSX-R1000 was left in the capable hands of the crew at Aggressor Custom Cycles and they knew just what to do to mix style and retain ridability.
Some cool paint tricks were incorporated to help separate the bike from the hordes of other wide-tire bikes on the East Coast, and the amazing end result was accomplished with only three colors. Painting the frame as part of the overall graphic scheme is a bold move that can backfire, but in this case it came together just right. The RC Components wheels were also spiced up with alternating colors for a unique look that steals the eye. Going the extra mile by color coordinating the brake master cylinder and other minor caomponents furthered the “less is more” notion that’s contrasted with a chrome finish exhaust. Brock’s Performance offers the pipe in black of course, but as counterpoint to the stealthy black chassis parts, the chrome works perfectly.

There’s more than just a pretty paint job though. The suspension was heavily modified with a DaPincci air ride system that allows for a wide range of ride heights at the push of a remote control button. Another cool push-button feature is a keyless ignition that helps clean up the dash area while adding a bit of unlikely flair.
While Oscar’s ride is far from subtle it’s not a slap in the face of taste either. Smart paint applications and lots of black accents keep the tone mellow, but upon closer inspection his Suzuki has all the features of a high ranking show bike.
