First Word
It looks like we pulled a fast one on you! The response to our "Back to the Future" feature introducing the Kawasaki ZX-8R in the July issue seems to have gotten some hopes up for the new model. But alas, it was merely a Photoshop stunt.
Since that first feature, we've had readers (and even custom bike builders) e-mailing us about release dates and where to buy parts. Our response has been simply to "reread the article."
The series (that's right-we have more) isn't meant to dupe hapless readers, but to provide creative entertainment-so enjoy.
This month's cover story will hopefully be unlike any bike shootout you've ever read. The standard test protocol is too played out for our style, so we took a different approach. Go check it out and send us your feedback.
Another unique feature this month covers the ways and means that our bikes come so stuffed up off the showroom floor. Ever wonder why stock bikes are so quiet, have heavy exhausts and ridiculously oversized turn signals and plate brackets? We did too, but with some investigative work we found out the reasons behind such design disasters.
A word must also be said about our "Rated and Reviewed" series this month that features leather jackets. We all know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and considering that old adage we've all got different gut reactions to certain products. Where we may mention that a certain style isn't our cup of tea, it could be right up your alley. Our opinions are for your amusement, but we present you with the facts so you can make your own assessment. You really should, after all, take some of our words lightly and leave space for your own impressions and opinions.
