SSB: What are your goals for the future of stunt riding?
E: My goal used to be taking stunting to the X-Games, but I'm mostly over that. I followed a few leads with the X-Games over the years and never got anywhere with that... Now I simply want to put on a good show that makes everyone-the riders, spectators, vendors and sponsors-happy. My goal is to make every person there be proud of the event, and send them away with stories to tell and great thoughts about next year. Most importantly, I want the stunt riders (and myself!) to be able to make a living doing what we love. You know, the American Dream.
SSB: What was your biggest moment so far?
E: Going to Japan earlier this year for the Multiplex stunt show with the guys from J-Style was incredible! Before that the only foreign countries I traveled to were Mexico and Cuba, so it was weird knowing I couldn't swim or walk back to the U.S. if I had to! I also just booked Joe Vertical and Aaron Brunelle for a 10-week stint doing stunt shows with the Monster Jam Europe Tour, which was really big for me. I am really excited about that, and I'm not even going along for the trip!
SSB: Anything you're looking forward to for next year?
E: I'm in talks right now to possibly bring some stunt shows to the AMA Supermoto events. That could be really good for the sport.
SSB: You recently relocated from South Carolina to Cali-why?
E: I had basically peaked in S.C. The motorcycle industry is centered in California, so I had to come out here to really make things happen. It's been good so far, and I've been able to get involved more directly in the industry and position myself to consult for companies who want to tap into this huge market niche with stunting but don't know how to go about it.
SSB: Best thing about Cali compared to SoKakalaka?
E: They sell liquor in grocery stores here. Ha!
SSB: Beer or shots?
E: Jagerbombs with a Corona chaser.
SSB: Any stunters you admire?
E: I could drop names for days. Everyone, from the guys who hit the lots every night trying to scrape or catch the idle to the O.G. stunt riders who are now doing shows around the world.
SSB: Do you still stunt?
E: It's like riding a bicycle, you don't forget how to do it. I haven't stunted much lately, just jumped on Darius' bikes at the spot a few times and played. But with all the griping I hear from Darius, Mikey from SBF and my homeboy Mario at HP Customs in Oakland, I have a feeling that I will be hitting the spots hard pretty soon!
SSB: What are you riding right now?
E: You mean bikes, right? A Honda 929 and an F4i
SSB: Got a Web site?
E: www.StuntMC.com. Hit me up, and check out www.bayareabikebash.com, too.
