Though the paint job isn't as mind-bending as the swingarm, it neatly showcases the heavily addressed bodywork that houses some intricate technology sure to get even the techiest of gadget geeks' blood pumping. The bike was sent to Mike Vu for a premier audio pimp job, and he came through. Vu is a household name in the car industry for his stellar work kitting out show cars, and on the ZX-10 it's obvious he knows his trade. He fabricated the tailsection, upper fairing and dash area completely from scratch, and in doing so he left space for an iPod, Alpine speakers, amp and 6.5-inch video screen.
Vu's automotive influence comes across in the smoothed-out dash area that would typically be a mess of wires and headlights but instead now has soft lines to make watching a steamy flick even more sensual (not while riding, of course).
Though the haters will do their usual thing with McCoy's ZX-10, we see it as pure flattery. Just as leaving the club with the hottest lady in the house brings taunts and jeers, so does rolling around on the smoothest of dope rides.
Trick Bit
Eye Candy's slick swingarm wasn't delivered by Santa, you know. McCoy and his crew spent 156 hours getting the design and fabrication correct, and in the end it was worth it. Here we see the swingarm evolve from a basic CAD to a plastic mold, then from a billet slab to an installed part.
