Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Donny Emler Jr., and I work for the world's number one aftermarket exhaust company-better know as FMF (Flying Machine Factory). My forte is talking to people and getting things done, so I guess you could say I handle a lot of FMF's marketing. Recently, I have also started doing some "Web work" with Spy Optics. I'm like a lost little puppy trying to find my way!
What is the best trick ever performed in a rental car?
I would have to say my skills with the E-Brake. I don't want to toot my own horn, but I can probably parallel park one with the E-Brake. Front-wheel drive cars are fun, too, when you get some plastic trays from a fast-food restaurant.
What was the best $40 ever spent?
Buying my best friends a round of drinks. I love hanging with my great friends, and I would do anything for these people.
What do you think will be the next big thing in our industry?
Hopefully X Games will notice guys like Jason Britton and Kane Friesen and get them some TV coverage.
What's the fastest you've gone on two wheels, and what bike was it on?
Probably about 80 mph on a Honda CRF450 dirtbike. It was in a National Hare and Hound race across the desert-pretty gnarly when you are dicing through the bushes.
What are you riding presently?
A Suzuki RMZ-450 and a Jesse Rooke/Swift cycles custom scrambler.
Why not a sportbike?
Yeah, sure, I stunt on the weekends and get serious on the highway on weekdays. Yeah, right. The truth is I've never ridden a sportbike because I've never had the chance. That's the boring answer.
Who would you like to put on the back of your bike?
Anyone who rags on riding. Throw them on the back and let them see what we're all addicted to and why we love the sports we are in-whether it's street or off-road.
What would you do with the last gallon of gas on Earth?
Go burn about 20 laps on a moto track.
Most embarrassing moment?
I was 15 and got a job at the local Family Fun Center miniature golf course. The first day on the job, I got to work on the bumper boats, and I was pumped. This kid got stuck in the middle of the little pool, so I took the employee boat to start him up again. When I was pulling the cord to start him, I had one foot in my boat and one in his. When I started that bad boy up, he had it reverse and full throttle, so I did the splits and went swimming. I had to call my mom to bring me a change of clothes. I laugh my ass off now when I tell the story, but at the time it was pretty embarrassing.
Person you most admire?
Mom and Dad. That's two, but deal with it.
What's the achievement you're most proud of?
Being myself at all times and having the chance to work for a company like FMF that my dad started out of his garage.
What would have been your alternate career?
Acting and doing some Zoolander modeling on the side. (I've got a killer Blue Steel.)
Have you ever skinned a rabbit for food?
Wow! I live in Southern California-the only rabbits I see are in a pet store. The closest I have ever come to doing something like that was when I went dove hunting, and when it came time to clean and eat them, I was outta there.
You've got the choice of three magic powers: fly like a bird, read people's minds or invisibility. Which would you choose and why?
All great powers, but I would go for reading people's minds. That way you could see who your true friends are and make some killer business deals as well.
