Twenty20 - Wearable Camcorder
Helmet Camera Is Dead
Twenty20's New Wearable Camcorder Hits MarketWe've all strapped a cumbersome camera to our helmet or gas tank to record a rip through the valley or a few wheelies, but it's usually a pain in the ass to get it right. Twenty20 has created a new generation of wearable recording equipment, though, that should make the experience more enjoyable while improving quality, too. Expected to debut this fall is an all-encompassing camera that mounts hands-free to nearly any object to record and store smooth camcorder-quality video.
Jason Green, founder of Twenty20, said: "Our plan is to continue to provide new tools to make action video as easy to record and share as a picture on your digital camera."
The apparently rugged unit isn't much bigger than a cell phone, records to an SD memory card and should retail for around $350.
Keep your eyes on SSB for a test on the camera and check www.twenty20camera.com for more details.
Should they wear club vests?
Club Vests
Should club members wear leather jackets with patches, or are the customized (but unprotective) vests a more fashionable and appropriate option? Send responses and a pic of your mug to SSBmail@primedia.com.
Not Hot: Handstand Burnout
Jim Schnieder summed up the general response:
"A sick circle burnout or drift is cool, but doing a handstand next to the bike doesn't take much skill at all."
Where Are They Now?
Tony D'Orsi was nearly at the top of the freestyle game and made the cover of SSB in 2004, but then tapered back his appearances significantly. Tony "D" was best known for introducing the European stunt style at American venues, but lately has focused more on video production with Drew Stone than actual competition.
DVD Of The Month
Hot Bikes
Burn Films, producer of the Burn On The West Coast and Motorcycle Mayhem DVDs, has a new release called Hot Bikes, which is the next step in the video evolution that shifts the focus from stunt riders to bike builders. At just under 1.5 hours long, Hot Bikes plays like a TV show, with segment locations from California to New York. Go behind the scenes with some of the hottest bikes and builders, like Sesto Custom Cycles, RIS Designs, TOCC, C&S Customs, Head Trip Helmets and more.
The music is in classic Burn Films style and includes the latest hip-hop beats. If you prefer wide tires versus wheelies, then Hot Bikes is the video to own.
