New Order
Notice anything different? Flip back to the main cover image if you're not following me here. Now think back two issues. Both of these covers show a sick custom bike being ridden at its limits. A couple months ago it was Troy Hoff wheelying a GSX-R1000, and now Bob Fisher is getting his hustle aboard a turbo CBR1000RR. What's the big deal, right?
We've had about enough of the "T" word around here-that's right...trailer. Each month a handful of know-it-all haters write in talking about trailer queens this and that, so we've been doing our best to show you that a sick ride can do more than sit on a "T" word. There's more of that stunning CBR in action on page 62, so enjoy it and don't be afraid to give your own custom ride a proper spanking once in a while. Every hot ride needs one occasionally, you know.
Hopefully you've made a note of the freshened-up design as well as the cool new content. After all, what's the point of being a cutting-edge sportbike mag if it looks like it's stuck in 1994?
We have some cheers for you guys. We listen to yours each month, so here's something back: The response to our Icon gear giveaway has been incredible, and "Reader's Rides" has also been pretty healthy. But considering the huge amount of crash pics we receive along with the shots of your bikes, we can only assume that many of them are destined to be wrecked. Stop crashing so much! We'd rather show you and your bike in one piece, after all. -Dave
2008 Honda CBR1000RR: Props Or Puke?
Big Honda Gets A Hefty Makeover
The Internet forum flockers were blazing on September 6 when Honda Europe released this shot of the all-new CBR1000RR, and as you can imagine it's been regarded with certain controversy over its new look.
Obviously the bodywork has been restyled and the mirrors now host the turn signals, while a seemingly Yamaha-esque badge sits on the tank and a shorty side-mounted exhaust replaces the prior underseat system.
Specs and additional shots weren't available as we went to press, and likely won't be for some time.
We're extremely curious what your initial reaction is to the new styling, so send us a mug shot and a few words to ssbmail@sorc.com.

New Fulmer Lids Hit The Streets
Fulmer Helmets has introduced its new AF-SS line, and it looks pretty hot. The helmets feature a cool and aggressive aerodynamic shape yet still meet Snell safety requirements. The AF-SS also features a DRI-LEX moisture wicking interior for added comfort.
Fulmer's Vice President Scott Holbrooks said: "Developing the AF-SS was a tremendously ambitious project with an unprecedented level of collaboration for us. The result is our most technologically advanced model to date. Riders are going to love this helmet."
We'll let you be the judge of that, and if you'd like to know more, bob your head over to www.fulmerhelmets.com.
