"At the moment, angry, I pulled off a wheelie large enough to make me want to check my drawers. Now, you may think at this point I have it, right? Wrong. There are so many other things to consider from here: trying to see around the gas tank, which is now where my windscreen used to be; monitoring the rear brake so as not to flip over; and regulating the throttle to keep the forward momentum. This isn't the muscle memory that I have been practicing on the track, and I was honestly a squid out of water.
"At the end of the day I would guess that one in every three of my wheelies was photo quality, and even though you won't see me competing in any stunt competitions, I certainly have gained a new level of respect for stunt riders. I didn't think it was going to be that difficult because I have been spoiled by watching riders like Chris McNeil, who make stunting look so tremendously easy."
Chris's Rating:
"Teri definitely rips on the track and I was surprised at how fast she was. Her motorcycle control allowed her to jump on the stunt bike and ride around pretty easily, even using the oh-so-important rear brake. But lifting the front end is a lot different than racing. Like all new stunters, she had a few 'Oh shit' moments. I'm fairly confident that with some more dedicated practice she could find the balance point and even scrape the pipe."
Easier said than done, McNeil. | Going up seemed harder than going over. | |
