2008: Suzuki B-King
Originally debuted in 2001 as a concept bike, the B-King looked the business. Not only was there an imposing supercharger hanging in the breeze, but also a fat rear tire. A lot changed since then and its 2007 unveiling. The only thing fat is the immense gas tank, while the hanging is left to the obtrusive exhaust.
Was Suzuki's design team inspired by Disney's environmentally friendly robot Wall*E?
2005: Bimota Tesi 2D
Originially conceived in 1994 as the Tesi 1D, the 2D surfaced ten years later and showed that with age does not come beauty. Priced near the $50,000 mark, the Bimota's innovative design qualities don't make up for its puzzling appearance.
1998: Harley-Davidson Road Glide
The Road Glide's "sharknose" front end sets it apart from the numerous other touring bikes in the HD family with an odd stance that simply seems too dissonant for any motorcycle design category. Not clever, just big and weird.
Futurama's Bender and the Road Glide: Separated at birth?
What Were They Thinking
1995: Aprilia Starck Moto 6.5
French architect and designer Philippe Starck created what appears to be a trendy kitchen appliance on two wheels.
1997: Bimota V-Due
Introduced in 1997, the twostroke race replica was recalled because it, well, didn't really run.
2002: Ducati 999
Poor Pierre Terblanche didn't get many accolades for his update to the iconic 916 family. Truly a "love it or hate it" motorcycle.
2005: Custom Suzuki Hayabusa
Spotted leaving a Denny's, this twin-turboed 'Busa trike sports 26-inch rims, amongst other oversized items.
2007: Can-Am Spyder
Had Can-Am not mentioned the word "motorcycle" in its press material we could live with whatever category this three-wheeled monstrosity filled, but being compared to a two-wheeler just isn't right. Furthermore, it doesn't even look cool and can't get through traffic.
1994: Morbidelli V8
Morbidelli built small capacity motorcycles in Italy during the 1970s and '80s. In 1994 the Italian manufacturer tried its hand at something larger-a 32 valve, liquid cooled, 847cc V8. Its extremely high price made it overly esoteric and useless to most, and so it vanished as quickly as it appeared.
