McCoy Motorsports'2007 Yamaha YZF-R1Behind The MusicEasily the most super-fantastic aspect of the McCoy Motorsports-built Yamaha R1 is the rear mounted turbo charger. Typically we find the turbo mounted up front below the radiator with a dump pipe sticking off the right side of the motor. Not this time though.Running out below the tail section is the exhaust on the right and the air cleaner on the left. It obviously took some serious fabrication and finagling to fit, but the visual impact was worth the effort.
WheelsCustom wheels come from Cyko Racing and are rightfully named the "Insane Shane" after the bike's owner and designer.
NitrousAs if a turboed R1 needs an extra boost...but a nitrous bottle can deliver that extra squirt with the flip of a switch.
BodyworkUltra light carbon fiber bodywork is semi-concealed beneath a ColorZone custom spray job.
SuspensionThe front end drops as low as the rear with an air ride system from Tricky Air.
BrakesA Beringer caliper grabs a single Galfer Wave rotor for the best stopping power available from a single disc set up.
