A little bit of accent lighting...
A little bit of accent lighting goes a long way, so don't overdo it.
An after market windscreen is like a magic makeover wand for any bike-be it a track only racer or a blinged out trailer queen. The dramatic difference in style (and aerodynamics) is so profound that it's quite shocking none of the bike manufacturers have utilized this little "cheater mod." We didn't hesitate however, and a cool blue screen from Zero Gravity replaced the boring stock unit.
If you're able to spring for big ticket items like aftermarket wheels and brake calipers it'll make you the envy of your peers and your bike the point of interest wherever it goes. We rode the road to exclusivity with a set of Widow Eclipse rollers, matching brake rotors and sprocket from RC Components. Pinching the fronts are chromed calipers from Performance Machine. Not only is appearance drastically improved, but the bike's street cred just blasted through the roof. But please, don't stick your stock rotors back on-that's just tacky!
The drivetrain mods continue in the rear where a Galfer Wave rotor replaced the stock disc. Roaring Toyz again enters the upgrade parade with its lengthening kit. We all know the 'Busa is best known and appreciated when it's stretched, but that can get seriously expensive with a full swingarm kit. A cheap alternative that's doable in the driveway is to use swingarm extensions (and lowering links if you like it low). Obviously a longer chain and brake line are also needed, but the Roaring Toyz kit has everything included.
Chrome ExchangeThere are more cost effective ways to get your bling on besides buying aftermarket parts outright. Chrome houses such as Classic Components and Sport Chrome offer exchange programs that keep down time to a minimum and costs under control. Simply send in the parts you want chromed (wheels, levers, etc) and they'll have the identical parts boxed and on their way to you.
