Why should we know who you are exactly?
I'm Shane "Spiderman" McCoy of McCoy Motorsports. My family owns an award winning custom bike building and performance company. You can see some of our work traveling the world with Yamaha and in magazines from the US to Japan. We've built motorcycles for celebrities, athletes, AMA racers and our customers.
What's the current state of the custom scene?
I see the trend for riders going back to the performance side of riding and building. It's changed a lot since a few years ago when building the biggest, wildest, all-show and no-go custom was the hot ticket. Now we are seeing a lot more functional builds that can be ridden on a daily basis.
What can we expect in the near future from McCoy Motorsports?
We are expanding into the off-road industry pretty big and our shop sells quite a bit of T-Rex and Venom vehicles every year.
How did McCoy Motorsports become known as a Yamaha authority?
We've always owned Yamahas as our personal bikes. We run the two largest Yamaha sportbike sites there are. Yamaha is good to us and we are to them. What is the most important lesson in life you have learned?
To tell my wife and kids that I love them every day because they mean the world to me!
