Conclusion
So who came out on top? Surprisingly, it was the stunt man, Kane Friesen. While any of his one-wheel exhibitions would have been an immediate kick to the curb during the real class, Friesen managed to keep it on two wheels with only three points deducted. Officer Gomez was a close second chasing down Friesen's first place (I would've let her catch me-Ed.)
Evidence of a rough racing season reared its ugly head as our former champ Hodgson took a close third-although his cautiousness might have come from trying to avoid explaining to his sponsors why he missed championship points because he crashed in a parking lot for our test. Sonsky finished mid-pack with a few choice words of wisdom under his breath for our scorekeepers. And last was "Mr. 360" himself. When Cottrell was asked how he felt about taking last he said, "Let's see whose bike gets the most cheeks on the back and it'll be a different story."
While we had fun using the Motorcycle Safety Foundation test as our benchmark, our results highlighted one important fact. No rider, despite any impressive credentials, had a perfect score when it came to basic street riding. But you're probably thinking: "I've been riding for years. Besides that, I already have my motorcycle endorsement. I don't need a class."
MSF offers an Experienced Riders Course to help bring your skills up to speed and take it to the next level. With the streets full of hazards, the more riding tips you have in your bag the better your chances of survival.
