1999-2000
The F4 hit the 600cc scene with a clean slate. The new 599cc motor was good for 95 HP and 45 LB-FT at the tire and 10.88 @ 126 MPH in the quarter-mile. The suspension and brakes were also updated over the F3 model, but the CBR kept upright ergos and a comfy seat. It was a street killer that could also be a track terror. The F4 is as reliable as it is fast, but sport touring and commuting are also well within its realm.

Mods: Fully built and blueprinted motor, 118 HP at the tire with Millennium Technology ported head, full Jardine exhaust, Vortex triple tree and clip-ons, HRC gearbox
Best Upgrade: "It was obviously the motor, it was done when I had to replace the gearbox because of too many clutch up wheelies in third gear. The best cheap mod was a 520 chain and re-gear, it gives so much better acceleration."
Favorite Aspect: "It's easy to ride and tracks like a dream; Honda definitely built a streetable bike that can hold its own on the track as well."

Favorite Aspect: "The Underglo kit with the color scheme and chrome because it shines so bright and it's legal in Texas, too."

Miles Done: 50,000
Mods: Full M4 exhaust, front and rear suspension (springs/valved)
Best Upgrade: "The suspension mods."
Favorite Aspect: "It can do anything. It's the last comfortable sportbike. I've logged several 1000+ mile days on it and have logged many hot laps, with the only difference being that I removed my GPS and swapped plastics."

Age: 19
Model Year: 2000
Miles Done: 29,000
Mods: Micron slip-on exhaust, Tyger Shark stunt cage, K&N air filter, (-1/+2) sprockets, custom paint
Best Upgrade: "The sprockets; acceleration is great and I can still ride the highways."
Favorite Aspect: "The versatility, I can throw it around easily and it sticks to the ground. The power is great and it pulls the front tire right up."
Trent Mall
Age: 27
Model Year: 1999
Miles Done: 3,000
Mods: GPR steering stabilizer, 520 conversion, Thrust rear sprocket (+14) and shorty clutch lever, Galfer Wave rear rotor, front stainless steel braided lines, Brembo rear hand brake, Sick Innovations crash cage, custom 12 bar, Barnett clutch, stunt tank, EBC brake pads, LED taillight, fender eliminator
Best Upgrade: "The sprocket, I bought this bike to be stunted because of the great reputation F4s have for their durability. I love the torque the big rear sprocket gives me and it's helped out a lot with slower wheelies."
Favorite Aspect: "It can't be killed! I barrel-rolled it twice when doing a wheelie, it flipped and landed upside down, and I rode it home!"
