How long have you been in the sportbike biz?
I started making parts for my R1 in 2004. Every time I went to bike night people would ask where I got the parts. I started setting up orders and making them by hand on a 50-year-old lathe. When bike night rolled around again, I had a backpack full of parts and left with a fist full of cash.
What does Sixty61 mean?
Aircraft quality "6061" T6 aluminum is what we make most of our parts from.
What makes your products stand out?
We are the original "spiked accessories" company. Many companies have copied us but you will see a difference in quality compared to the replicas. The complex design of the newer Gatling products are actually seven individual pieces in one. Most other companies use just a single cut out design.
What do you ride?
It's a fully custom, limited edition 2003 R1 with a 240 wide tire kit.
Have you seen a turn in the market for spiked parts?
I think spiked accessories are a lot like large back tatts of your last name. Of course they will always be around but they may not always be in style. I hope they stay popular for a while otherwise I will have an extremely large collection of exotic butt plugs.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned in life?
You will never find true happiness in money. Slow down and enjoy life, keep God, family and friends as the most important focus.
