Bad boy bikers aren't rocking Harleys anymore; those days ended with Easy Rider. Now, it's the sportbike that attracts rebellious riders and the women who lust after the rough types.
The music industry has capitalized on the impressions sportbikes make on the general public, and they have been popping up in everything from hip-hop to metal videos for some time now. Some of our picks came from the vault while others are current. Either way the message is similar-bikes rock!
DMX
Ruff Ryder's Anthem
DMX put stunt riding on the map when he featured Wink 1100 and his Ruff Ryder crew tearing up the streets of New York City. Never before had the public been exposed to sportbike hijinks like this. Wink was in nothing but shorts, a T-shirt and slippers pulling wheelies and stoppies aboard his old school Gixxer 1100.
And the song rocked as hard as the video.
Millions were instantly intrigued, captivated as much by the bikes as the music. The video helped jumpstart the freestyle sportbike movement.
Queen Latifah Unity
Back when the Queen was livin' large she took charge on one of the coolest bikes ever-the 1993 Honda CBR900RR. Most of the video is filled with sportbikes of the day simply cruising smooth through the hood, but Queen Latifah kicks it up with a rolling burnout.
