SSB's Take
A great literbike that's as forgiving as it is fast with usable power, predicable handling and damn good looks (especially the Repsol version). Despite some extra heft the CBR1000RR is a great literbike at an affordable price point.
We'd add: An exhaust system (full or slip-on) to boost power and drop weight as well as some flushmounts and an undertail.
The Facts
Hit: Good midrange hit, stable chassis, Honda refinement.
Miss: Slightly short on steam, a bit porky, the HESD can be troublesome for wheelie merchants.
Common problems:
Earlier models or high mileage examples can have charging system problems with the stator being the likely culprit. The HESD can also be problematic if the bike is left out in the weather for extended periods of time.
