When I’d ride my BMX bike to school, I’d stop by the local bike shop almost every day and chit-chat with the mechanic while he worked. When I got older, I worked at that same shop part-time after school to learn the basics. I also worked at McDonald’s down the road. After high school, my friends and family started getting bikes, even my neighbor. I’d fix up their bikes in my spare time and I did some paintwork for cash on the side. Finally, after all the blood, sweat, tears and piss, I was able to get the bike I dreamed about. Now I have three bikes – one for street, one for track and one for wheelies.
