Woodcraft
Woodcraft's design provides all the basic functions that racers require and street riders enjoy. This kit utilizes the stock position mounting plate and allows for six-position adjustment using either a high or low mounting location.
If you shop at IKEA then you'll know what we mean when we say that assembly is required and the instructions were minimal. A brake-light switch is available for an additional $17.99 for street riders looking to maintain functionality of the rear brake light. Woodcraft's rearsets were the least expensive and still provide all the benefits of aftermarket rearsets. Sets are available in black and silver.
Price: $329.99
Pros: Great price
Cons: Assembly required

Arata
Arata's rearset design is the result of lessons learned racing in Japan over the past four years. The style is basic and straightforward and includes heel guards to protect street riders from getting snagged. Installation of the kit was the most difficult, as Arata rearsets arrived fully disassembled with a minimal amount of instructions. No brake-light switch or hardware is available to retain the rear brake light. Sets are available in either black or silver.
Price: $449.99
Pros: Focused performance part
Cons: Assembly required, no brake-light option

Valter Moto
Italians are known for adding style with function, and Valter Moto's rearsets are extremely attractive and would be a welcome addition to any custom motorcycle or race bike. The kit comes partially assembled but still required a bit of ingenuity to install. A mounting bracket with multiple holes allows for maximum adjustability, but foot brake-light functionality is lost. Sets are available in red, turquoise, green, silver, black, blue and gold for the ultimate in looks and customization.
Price: $326.87
Pros: Trick appearance works for race or street
Cons: No brake-light option

Graves Motorsports
The Graves Motorsports rearsets are the exact same units used on its AMA Superstock Yamaha R1 race bikes. Beautiful design and construction come at a price though--they were the most expensive kit in the test. Spring-loaded tips should help prevent some damage in a minor spill-over, while they also came with carbon-fiber heel guards for a smart look.
The kit comes fully assembled with all parts already bolted together, but instructions are not included and Graves recommends that a qualified technician install them. Use of the rear brake light is lost and no optional kits are available. Sets are available in black only.
Price: $699.99
Pros: Top-quality race kit
Cons: A bit pricey, no rear brake-light option
