Wrenchware Wine Glasses
When tooling with your toys has consumed your life and your significant other is complaining about parts on the dinner table, Wrenchware is for you. It has an entire line of glasses and flatware featuring everything from valves and sprockets to wrenches and screwdrivers. You can even get them custom engraved through the Wrenchware Web site.
Driven USA Clip-Ons
Driven USA offers roadracing clip-ons that are manufactured at a 7 degree angle for improved clearance and rider comfort. Two sets of pinch bolts secure the clamps to the fork and the adjustable bars to the clamp. They are available in traditional black as well as titanium with a laser-etched Driven logo.
SIDI Streetburner Boots
Burn rubber, not your sole. In an accident, sneakers tend to fly off leaving your little piggies eating pavement, while road-racing boots tend to be bulky and uncomfortable for all-day wear. Sidi's Streetburner offers an alternative to road-racing boots while still providing quality protection.
Make no mistake, this boot was made for riding-with an external ankle brace system, composite inner sole and bolt-on replaceable, adjustable and aerodynamic nylon scuff pads on the toe. These are ready to roll all day and through the night in total comfort.
First Gear Teton Jacket, Navigator Gloves, Escape Pants
Daily two-wheeled commuting isn't for everyone (though it should be), and along with it comes riding in some truly awful weather. L.A. isn't all sun and fun, and the winter months here are pretty cold and dreary. But with the right gear the weather isn't too much of a bother. The problem is that I haven't had any that can handle cold and wet at the same time, until now.
First Gear's textile jacket, pants and gloves have saved me from pneumonia several times a week over the last couple months, but there's more than just warm waterproof clothing happening here.
The Teton jacket has some cool features, like a hidden hood that goes under the helmet and keeps the cold stuff off your neck and also has armor that I hopefully won't need.
The Escape overpants actually proved too warm for the 40-degree weather I've been rolling in, but with the inner liner removed they're just right over a pair of jeans. They're easy on and off and keep me warm and dry, and they've been tested in some proper downpours, too.
Rounding out my cold-weather apparel is a pair of Navigator gloves that definitely keep my hands warm, but with warmth comes bulk. They make it a bit tricky to feel the finer things, but then I don't wear them to the strip club so I guess I'll manage.
