It could happen to anybody, and it finally happened to me. All of these years I had been so careful and attentive, but one day a slight distraction allowed me to ride off without my rear seat latched down. I still remember cringing as I watched it slide down the pavement....pretty side down of course.
So, in true Super Streetbike fashion, I aimed to improve the look of my bike while covering up my mistake. And since I was already covering up the rear seat, it was a perfect excuse to cover the front too. They have to match, right?
After searching high and low I landed on a set of sweet looking seat covers from Luimoto, www.luimoto.com or 888-LUIMOTO (584-6686). I chose the Team Yamaha covers, as they matched the bike perfectly.....the color, the stripes, everything! They are made of high-quality marine grade vinyl, with a cold crack temperature of -23C! They're also mildew resistant and antimicrobial treated.
After receiving the covers I looked through the instructions, and the install seemed simple enough, but I chose to have a professional do the work. Having never worked with vinyl covers, I didn't want to take a chance. From the photos, you can tell it wasn't that hard after all. So next time I'll definitely be doing the work myself.
After it was all said and done, I'm happy that my mind was absent for those few seconds, because now I'm rocking some sweet custom seats, and all for only around $140 retail! Definitely a great way to set your bike apart from the masses.
