"
Having worn an Arai Corsair-V for several thousand miles I was looking forward to comparing it to Arai's latest street lid, the RX-Q. Billed as the "ultimate street helmet" I wasn't sure what to expect really. After all, I've never worn any helmet and thought, 'Wow, it's so quiet and comfy.' They're all loud if you ask me...But the RX-Q has got me thinking to the contrary and is noticeably quieter than the Corsair-V. I've ridden the exact same route to and from work in all weather conditions with each helmet, so the head to head (sorry) comparo between the two is legit. The higher priced Corsair-V feels a touch lighter, but it's also significantly noisier. And while I found the Corsair-V to offer above average ventilation, the RX-Q is exceptional. Above 40 mph it's immediately obvious which of its five vents are open, and you can feel airflow from each vent on the different quadrants of your head. Pretty neat.
The cheekpads are slightly different than the Corsair-V's and extend a bit further down the face. This adds comfort and helps reduce wind noise further, particularly when used with the retractable chin curtain."
