"I typically conduct a three-part torture test when trying out a helmet. First is comfort. It's important to start off on the right foot-for your head. I must have been dropped a lot on my dome as a kid, because I have a hard time finding helmets that fit me properly. The F&F slid on like a koozie and didn't leave me counting the seconds until I could take it off.
Next, I test the ventilation by opening and closing the vents while riding (and wearing gloves). While I was able to operate them with out a snag, I really couldn't tell much difference in airflow between all-open and all-closed.
My third-and most subjective test-is style. The F&F design looks like it was made by a trendy clothing designer with a distinct motif not previously seen on a helmet. And if you like the carpet to match the drapes you can pick up a matching jacket and hit the streets in style. At under $170, the F&F is a bargain; it's a good looker at an entry-level price."
