Icon's Airframe helmet has been out for a while and is constantly being upgraded and refined. Over the years the graphics have ranged from bikini-clad girls to skulls and demons from the very bowels of science fiction. With that type of variety you can imagine my reaction when I first laid eyes on the Construct. It's completely naked, and not in a Playboy kind of way. Rather than lay down any graphics, Icon let the natural finish show through. You can actually see how the helmet is constructed and the materials used. The flat black venting on top and tinted screen give it a mummy versus space alien appearance.
As far as function goes, it's a solid design. Venting is decent and easily located when wearing gloves. While not the quietest helmet I've worn, it's not the loudest either and the price reflects appropriately. Leave it to Icon, the king of crazy designs, to come out with an anti-graphic helmet and somehow make it work.
