Every part and piece of hardware...
Every part and piece of hardware you'll need to bolt this on and hit the street is included in the kit.
There’s nothing special about having a wheel mounted on only one side. Hell, your car in the garage has four of them attached that way. Even the most basic 50cc scooter from Italy has had a single-sided swingarm for decades.
But the thing is, proper bikes stuck to double-sided swingarms for most of the 20th century. Holding the rear wheel between two arms is simpler, cheaper, lighter and makes things like chain adjustments a breeze. But since everyone had a double-sided rear arm, a single-sider would look cooler...
The first mainstream superbike with a single-sider was Honda’s VFR750R RC30 of 1988. From there, Ducati jumped in with its now-legendary 916 in 93, and then loads of single-sided swingarms appeared from Triumph, Honda and even BMW.
And now, Roaring Toyz. Machined from 6061 aluminum, this arm is pretty much custom made to your requirements. It can be designed from zero to 12-inches over stock and can hold an 8.5-inch wide rim and 240mm tire. Engraving, polishing, chroming and powdercoating are all available, and the kit comes with everything you need right in the box, from bearings and cush drive to the 240 tire and brake line.
The final design is the result of nearly two years of CAD drawings and hands-on testing that helped accomplish the lightest weight and most strength possible, which help make this arm far superior to cheaper, less engineered versions. Oversized rears, in this case the 240, require a full sized cush drive or they’ll fail before too long. Durability was a key objective when designing the swingarm as was ridability—two things Roaring Toyz prides itself on. Numerous days were spent on the road course as well as the drag strip to ensure that the arm would perform under the most severe conditions.
The price may seem steep, but when you consider the R&D as well as all of the components included in the kit (every single piece of hardware needed for installation, from wheels and bearings to chain and spacers) it’s a sweet deal. And its exclusivity would certainly set your ride greatly apart from even the most modified bike in your crew.
