Looking for some extra pep in your step? A smaller tooth front sprocket will gear your bike lower for an instant sensation of more torque.
 1: Place the bike on a rear...  1: Place the bike on a rear stand. Remove the 5 front sprocket cover bolts and the cover will slide out of place. There's no need to remove the speedometer sensor from the center of the cover, but you can if you want to set the cover on the floor instead of letting it hang. |  2: There is a large washer...  2: There is a large washer behind the nut that is folded around the nut to keep it from moving. Bend it flat back by tapping it gently with a flathead screwdriver. Work all the way around it until it's flat entirely. |  3: Place the bike in gear...  3: Place the bike in gear and have a friend stand on the rear brake, or place a bar in the rear wheel to prevent chain/sprocket/wheel movement. Remove the nut. It may not come loose with an air gun, so use a ratchet and a breaker bar. |
 4: Unscrew the nut, revealing...  4: Unscrew the nut, revealing the flat washer. |  5: Remove the flat washer...  5: Remove the flat washer. |  6: Wiggle the sprocket to...  6: Wiggle the sprocket to and fro while pulling towards you. The sprocket will slide off with the chain still wrapped around it. |
