1: The rear of the ZX-10R...
1: The rear of the ZX-10R in stock trim = ugly.
One of the first parts on a stock bike to get the hacksaw is the unsightly and enormous rear license plate hanger. It's a DOT law that regulates the unusual size of these things, but we think they're utterly ridiculous looking. In its place we installed a Competition Werkes fender eliminator--here's how:

2: Remove the side panels...

2: Remove the side panels on both sides by first taking out the 4mm allen bolt near the front. Then just pull it off.

3: Next, remove the seat bolt...

3: Next, remove the seat bolt on both sides.

4: With the passenger seat...

4: With the passenger seat and rider seat removed it'll look like this.

5: Remove the 2 allen bolts...

5: Remove the 2 allen bolts at the top of the tail section, then take the mid plastic connector piece out by sliding forward.

6: To remove the tail section...

6: To remove the tail section side panels, take out the pop rivets on the underside.

7: The side panel will then...

7: The side panel will then come off with some gentle pressure and forward movement.

8: After doing the same on...

8: After doing the same on both sides your naked behind will look like this.

9: Next, unplug the 2 turn...

9: Next, unplug the 2 turn signals and the license plate light.

10: Group the 3 wires together...

10: Group the 3 wires together and feed them down through the hole.

11: Those 4 blurry allen...

11: Those 4 blurry allen bolts hold the entire license plate and turn signal assembly on. Remove them.

12: With the previously shown...

12: With the previously shown 4 bolts out, the entire license plate and turn signal assembly will come away. Remember to slip the 3 wires out through the hole.

13: Put the new license plate...

13: Put the new license plate bracket in place and fasten with the provided bolts, using the same holes where the old piece was fastened.

14: Next, loosely fasten...

14: Next, loosely fasten the turn signal tabs to the license plate bracket.

15: The end of the turn signal...

15: The end of the turn signal is threaded and tightens against the turn signal tab.

16: Either splice or use...

16: Either splice or use wire connectors to hook up the indicators. Stripe to stripe, solid to solid. Super easy.*
17: After replacing the bodywork...
17: After replacing the bodywork and seats the same way they came off you can enjoy your bike's sleek new figure. Cool, quick and simple.
