Simply put, frame sliders are one of the most important modifications that every bike should have. Without a doubt, they've saved my arse several times and I know many others share in my belief.
However, many riders don't realize that buying quality sliders is just as important as having them in the first place. The age old saying of, "you get what you pay for," holds true since cheap sliders oftentimes snap off in a tip-over only causing more damage.
To ensure my R6 would be safe in a get-off I chose some frame savers from Graves Motorsports. These billet beauties come in black or polished, install without cutting and are sturdy enough to hold their own. They installed in about an hour and cost a scratch over 100 bones. For the full install, read on!
Tools needed: Box wrenches, ratchet, sockets, torque wrench, thread-locking compound
Difficulty: 1 of 5
Time: 1 hour
*Note, you'll need to remove your fairings for the install. For the how-to on fairing removal check this out: http://www.superstreetbike.com/how_to_installation/0904_sbkp_2009_yamaha_r6_fairing_removal/index.html
