2010 Triumph Daytona 675 SE

The sound of the 675's three-cylinder motor is extremely unique. Imagine a V-twin and an inline-four had some freaky circus sex that was recorded, then digitally enhanced and processed with yet-to-be-seen 3-D aural technology-that's how it sounds with the stock exhaust and airbox. Just wait until I get this baby modded.
Obviously, an exhaust is first on the list of upgrades by a longshot. I'm not a selfish guy; I want others around me to experience the sonic symphony emitting from this beauty. Aside from sampling both a slip-on and full exhaust system I'm going to focus on performance and appearance-but they'll have to walk hand in hand. No chrome for the sake of chrome unless it will enhance the function as well. Considering that, some carbon fiber swaps for the stock bodywork (as pretty as it is, it would be better if it was lighter) are in order as well as light aftermarket wheels. The already nimble 675 should be like a ballerina when these items are dialed.
The brakes are decent, but could certainly be better. Thankfully the 675 rolls off the showroom floor with steel braided brake lines, so that part is already sorted. Next in line will be a heftier master cylinder to pump more pressure with less effort. I may also experiment with different pad compounds-that could make for some cool "blind" testing...
I'll save the power struggle for another time. This is a 600 after all, so I'm looking to ultimately make it as light and nimble as possible instead of trying to simply pile on the ponies.
Second Opinions:
Man does this thing sound mean! Between the supercharger-like whine of the motor and the growl of the exhaust you'd shame even the likes of an uncorked 'Busa-it sounds that good! If it were mine I'd open it up with a full system and an air filter. I'd add a few other racer bits to make it look the part. -Justin
The three-cylinder motor is nothing short of awesome and sings like the strum of a guitar chord through a distortion pedal. The must-have mod is a sweet sounding exhaust to amplify that music to the masses. -John
Coming next month:
The basics: larger windscreen, tank guard and a slip-on pipe.
