Miles: 400
Some sportbikes may look better and even pull harder than the Kawasaki Ninja 1000, but few can hold a candle to its versatility. Although I haven't spent enough time to unearth all of its idiosyncrasies just yet, I have however come to enjoy its jack-of-all trades character and intend to capitalize on it. My plans include a single digit ET at the drag strip, running the Mojave Mile, attending a few track days, logging some major commuter miles and maybe a two-up tour to another state. Hell, there isn't a lot this bike can't do, and with some choice mods I'm going to unlock the hidden potential within.
Aside from the great motor, comfy riding position and decent chassis, the affordable price tag just might be this bike's strongest suit. For those counting duckets, the $10,999 price tag is cheaper than some 600s, and if you ride on the street as much as I do the Ninja 1000 is a far better streetbike than any 600 could hope to be.
I know some may doubt my sentiments, but give me some time and I think most of you will be pleasantly surprised with the bike after some choice mods.
Next Month: Starting with the basics; fender eliminator and levers.
