Our next contestant is a 2005 Yamaha R1 owned by
Jermaine Chandler from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Owner's Name:Jermaine Chandler
Year/Make/Model:2001 Suzuki Hayabusa
Engine Modifications: The motor is bored over to 1397cc with a modified clutch, modified airbox, ported throttle bodies, oil cooler bypass and a full Hindle exhaust.
Chassis Modifications:The custom 18-inch-over, 300 series swingarm was built by Jason and Tommy at C&S Customs in Mocksville, N.C. C&S also supplied me with the 300-series wheels from RC Components and a custom brake system that uses the sprocket for a rear brake rotor. For suspension it has a C&S machined strut out back and a custom upper triple tree with a lowering strap to make it go even lower.
Other Modifications:The bike was painted candy apple red with silver graphics and tons of flake by Richie at Got Paint! in Winston-Salem.
Special Thanks To: The bike was built in less than a month with plenty of help from friends and family. Of course I'd like to thank Super Streetbike for giving me a chance to show everybody how we do it in the South: SSC, which stands for stretched, slammed and chromed!
