i was wondering if anyone has ever heard of putting a 1000cc engine on a 600cc frame... if its possible or what would i have to do to put say like a gsxr 1000 motor on my gsxr 600! is there a place that does that professionally? is there a kit for that kind of stuff?

I'm new to riding and I bought a 96' CBR1000 not because I wanted a bike this big but because I got it from a friend cheap. Is there any updates I can do to it. It doesnt look to old but I just wanted to make it look a little better. It has a slip-on exhaust that looks like crap any suggestions for a different one, and any other updates I could do? Me and couple of guys at work were arguing about the chicken strips on the tires. One guy was saying the more worn out the chicken strip was, the further you went down. Is that true??? How can you tell how far you went down by reading the tire???

alright I will give you a little bit of background on me that way I dont get a bunch of folks sayin "get this, get that". I am a HUGE big red fan. I previously owned a nighthawk 250 and in the little time i rode that (when it was running that is)I learned how to shift and brake and feel comfortable moving on a bike. After that I took the MSF course and will always suggest it to someone. after that I bought a brand new Shadow Aero 750, my first "big" bike. I rode it for like 2 yrs. Im in the navy now and stationed up in the northwest where it rains alot. I havent ridden in over a year and want a cbr600rr. Is there any quirks about the bike that i should know of and does the power kick in really early on the roll of the throttle? I still consider myself a beginner since i havent had consistent riding in a while. also i know turning a SB is a little different than a cruiser and I would greatly appreciate cornering tips especially considering the wet conditions. also suggestions for good all season tires would be welcome too.

first off i have a 2007 gsxr 600 and that is my baby! and i am wanting to get the slowboy racing turbo kit, a power commander, intake, and the taylormade exhaust for it... 1. would it be better to buy the exhaust with preprogrammed powercommander or get a p/c seperate after i buy all the other goodies? 2. what is a good intake for my streetbike? i just recently got into riding about a year or two ago and im not really familiar with all the performance manufacturers out there... is k&n still the best for a streetbike or who? 3. would it be better for me to get the goodies for my gsxr or start over, sell my bike and start with something bigger like a cbr100rr or similar? let me know what yall think! thanks for your times :crazy:

For starters I dont own a bike yet. Im looking at the gsxr 600 to maybe start off with. I'm 5'5" and was figuring I would have to lower the bike some. How much is too much when lowering it is the first question. Also how much height can I save switching the seats to one of the gel-pad seats? Finally, what affect does lowering a bike have on safety, handling and control, braking, cornering, rough roads, comfort and whatever else I may have missed

I have recently taken the class but i have been waiting on stand by for about a month or so to take the Riding Courses .... I have no experience with any type of motorcycle at all, and this weekend will be the 1st time getting on a bike and turning it on. Does any one have any suggestions on what NOT TO DO?? I really don't want to be one of those people who fall as soon as they get on the bike lol And I certainly don't want to press the wrong button to make the bike suddenly turn off. :crazy: Any suggestions will help!!! ;)
