Bill Dixon's switchback stoppie
The third-annual King of the South stunt competition got off to a slightly damp start after a long day of showers canceled practice, forcing all events into Sunday. Judges included OG stunt riders Digidy and Rick Nasty from Purebred Riders.
Fastest wheelie was the first competition on the schedule, and although Bill Dixon was declared the winner, a small disagreement regarding the rules resulted in the final prize money being split between Dixon and another rider.
Mitch Adams, winner of longest stoppie at Stunt Wars 2007, took first with a final run of 592 feet. Matt Lindamood finished in second with his last pass ending with a nasty looped stoppie. Bill Dixon, normally a major contender, did not compete due to the situation in fastest wheelie.

Aaron Colton pulled off yet another victory in individual freestyle, continuing his yearlong winning streak. Bill Dixon took home a nice second-place run and Mark "T-Neck" Martinek finished third.
Tandem was the final event for the day and 2-on-1 Freestyle's Ken and Brandy from Oklahoma performed a well-rounded run to take the grand prize. The last two events of the day, sickest trick and team event, had to be canceled due to time constraints.

2007 Xtremey Awards
The Impact Video Xtremey Awards once again honored video producers and athletes with a passion for extreme sports. Docy Andrews, president of Impact Video and creator of The Impact Video Xtremey Awards, put on another great show for the hundreds of riders and industry bigwigs in attendance.
This year the show opened with Andrews' Vegas-style rendition of the Frank Sinatra classic "Luck Be A Lady." Docy and the Imps returned with their parody performance of "Livin' La Vida Loca" called "Livin' La Vida Moto." While her Imps twirled and danced, Andrews wailed out the lead vocals.

Sal Fish, president of Score International, was presented the 2007 Honorary Achievement Award, while Lawrence Lewis of Clutch Films made a lively acceptance speech for his work in Sand Blast (likely thanks in part to his numerous visits to the bar).
Jason Britton took home the trophy for his stunt work in Get on Up 3 and newcomers Stuntworks' video In the Mix walked away with the big award for Best Sportbike Stunt Video of the Year.
Racers And Stunters
For the second consecutive year, Infineon Raceway and the AMA played host to the West Coast Freestyle Stunt-Riding competition.
The competition saw a freestyle sportbike competition that had the usual events: last man standing, longest stoppie and sickest trick. Saturday started with qualifiers for individual freestyle, and riders Alex Flores, Ernie "E Dub" Vigil, Mike "lil Flip" Kimbrough, Nick "Apex" Brocha, "Sick" Rick Hart, Eric "E Dub" Whitcomb, Jason "J Boogie" Spalding and Cameron Beck moved on to the main event.
1st Place Nick Brocha | 2nd Place Alex Flores | 3rd Place Rick Hart |
Thomas Evans announced the runs, while a host of professional riders including Joe Suttefield, Joe Molina, and "Bullo" pulled judging duties. Flores took the win for longest stoppie, while sickest trick went to Whitcomb for his bunny hop over a brave and willing participant lying on the ground.
On Sunday morning, all of the qualifiers arrived with the exception of Vigil, who suffered a bike malfunction during a high-speed stoppie that landed him in the hospital.
Brocha managed to finish on top in individual freestyle despite spending the night in the hospital by his teammate's side. The field rounded out with Flores taking 2nd, Hart in 3rd, Kimbrough in 4th, and Spalding finishing in 5th position.
4th Place Mike Kimbrough | 5th Place James Spalding | Sickest Rick Eric Whitcomb's bunny hop |
The number of riders entered in the last man standing event made for a battle of riders trying to knock one another off their bikes. Joe Suttefield and Jason Pullen, the final two survivors of the fight, went down simultaneously to tie the event.
The competition and freestyle show attracted many hardcore race fans who saw firsthand what street freestyle was all about.
