Farmingdale, NJ - 1/16/09 - Bel-Ray, the industry leader in performance oils and lubricants, has secured a partnership with Team Sterilgarda / Ducati World Superbike Team as their official lubricant sponsor for 2009.
Team Sterilgarda will be piloted by a two man team consisting of Alessandro Polita and Shane Byrne and contesting the entire superbike schedule. Polita's racing achievements include being the 2006 European SuperStock 1000 champion and coming in 3rd in the 2008 European SuperStock 1000 championship. Shane Byrne, residing at Lamberth in the UK, is the current British Superbike champion and has a list of top 10 finishes in his career.
In the agreement, Team Sterilgarda will be using Bel-Ray oil and lubricants formulated to their Ducati 1098 RS race bikes. Specifically designed for racing conditions, Team Sterilgarda will choose to run Bel-Ray's EXS 10W-50 100% Synthetic Superbike Motor Oil in all their bikes. In addition to the EXS, the team will also be using Bel-Ray's Super Clean Chain Lube, Brake & Parts Cleaner, Super DOT 4 Brake Fluid, Moto Wash, Moto-Polish, Waterproof Grease and 6 in 1 All Purpose Lubricant.

Team Sterilgarda will be contesting the entire 2009 Superbike Series which is scheduled to kick off on March 1st, 2009 at Australia's Phillip Island.
