The fmx loonies stole the show as usual.
Recently we had the chance to attend Yamaha's 2008 Press Day where we got a sneak-peak at the new R1 race bikes, checked out insane FMX, drag-raced snowmobiles and even got to meet some famous racers.
Yamaha kicked off the day by announcing the members of its entire race team, from Superbike to MX. After browsing the new model line we watched a tire-change competition, drag raced snowmobiles and even saw the new R1 race rigs. If seeing the new R1s wasn't sweet enough, we also got to hear them run flat out on the dyno. Words can't explain how the lumpy idle and the high-end rip of the new "big-bang" motor sounds. When you do hear it you'll want one, so start filling up the piggy bank.
Though the FMX show was technically the highlight of the event it was the opportunity to chop it up with the likes of Ben Bostrom, Josh Herrin, Tommy Aquino, Josh Hayes and even the legend himself, Doug Henry that might have trumped it.
