Surely you've seen Rich Christensen, the guy in the tight shirt with the melodramatic antics, set up grudge races between mismatched `mobiles by now? The star of Speed TV's Pinks was doing his usual flex and release routine at the Bradenton Motorsports Park, but something outside the expected went down--scores of sportbikes showed up and provided the closest racing the series has seen.
On Friday night's qualifying round a solid 287 bikes lined up in hopes of making Saturday's main event as well as getting a chance to square up in an armdrop battle for a winner-take-all race.

Everything from wheelie-barred `Busas to stock CBR900RRs were racing heads up, and though some of the matches were less than fair it still offered the crowd great entertainment.
The rather anticlimactic result to a standard test and tune day wasn't the result we'd hoped for. Instead we had planned on Rich puffing out his cheeks and getting a couple riders going at each other's throats. Maybe bike guys are too smart. Check your local TV listings for coverage.
