Southern California's annual sportbike event, Toy Ride, is now in its eighth year of bringing smiles to less fortunate children's faces. Nearly $10,000 worth of toys were collected and distributed to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)offices as a result of the event. The DCFS is a public agency that helps children who have been displaced from abuse, neglect and placed in temporary homes.
For those willing to brave the cool winter air, the ride started at the Los Angeles Stadium and toured the city, with its final destination ending at Superbike Nation in Orange, California. The highlight every year is the extensive raffle thanks to many generous sponsors. Each rider who participated received one ticket, with additional tickets selling for $10. Over $5000 worth of motorcycle gear, parts and accessories were raffled off throughout the day, while stunt exhibitions by Eric Whitcomb, Jamal "J-beats" Kindred and Troy Hoff kept everybody entertained.
