Los Angeles, CA (May 5, 2009) -- The XDL Sportbike Freestyle Championship is proud to announce a renaming of the Individual Freestyle Competition to FMF Cup. Individual Freestyle is the battle for the national championship and XDL's most prestigious competition. The branding of this competition is a further step in the rapid growth of the sportbike freestyle movement spearheaded by XDL. The FMF Cup will offer the basis for several levels of brand integration for FMF Racing's APEX Sport Bike line at XDL events, in marketing collateral, on the web site and in video content. It also gives FMF Racing category exclusivity and the status of "Official Exhaust of XDL."
XDL series founder Randy Grube had this to say about the partnership: "Last year we were thrilled to have FMF come on board because it represented acceptance of XDL within the traditional industry. This year FMF stepped it up a notch by taking over the FMF Cup and thus continuing a partnership that'll see XDL develop into a full, motorcycle-based action sports brand. FMF was great to work with last year and 2009 promises to be another productive year. Most importantly I need to applaud FMF for their foresight by recognizing the marketing potential of the XDL platform and the sport of sportbike freestyle."
With a long history of manufacturing top product and supporting the sport of motorcycling, the FMF-XDL relationship creates a platform on which to showcase the line of FMF Apex and Powercore GP exhaust systems. Remarked Donnie Emler: "FMF Racing is very excited about our relationship with XDL. This is a series that attracts the best stunt riders in the world and a perfect place for us to launch our new state of the art APEX road line. FMF is also looking forward to promoting some of our top action sports athletes such as '08 XDL champion Nick 'Apex' Brocha, teammate Ernie Vigil, Aaron Colton and Tony Levesque. FMF prides itself on partnering with the best events, series and athletes and excited to continue this great relationship."
Don Emler started FMF Racing out of his garage in 1973. Over 35 years later and Don Emler is still working on the next big thing in his 90,000 sq. ft. garage. FMF Racing produces everything 100% in house using premium American made materials.
The XDL Sportbike Freestyle Championship is the only national stunt riding championship, now entering its 4th season. XDL is the leader in reaching the core 20-year old sportbike demographic with a 2009 schedule that includes NY, Nashville, Los Angeles, Indianapolis and Lake Havasu City.
