Some of the industry's most enthusiastic supporters are the very same people who defend our country, and Kawasaki stepped up to show gratitude with an open house of great proportions. Kawasaki, along with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), gave nearly 200 Marines from Camp Pendleton the chance to tour the Kawi headquarters, dig in to a catered lunch and finally get some inspiration from a stunt show from Kawasaki stunter Jason Britton.
The party kicked off with a tour of the gigantic facility that included a behind-the-scenes look at the factory race teams, the test fleets and other insider-only areas. But if anyone can handle some classified info it's these guys...
Highlights of the day included an up-close and personal look at championship-winning bikes, the first Kawasaki GPZ900 with serial number one (the bike from Top Gun) and a look at Eddie Lawson's old race bike (just to name a few).
But more than just a good time, the MSF was there with Kawi's support to announce its new rider program for the Marines. This special course is geared specifically for soldiers that are considering a first bike or have recently purchased one. In many aspects it's like the MSF's entry-level course that teaches them the basics. But the difference comes with added support from fellow Marine riders who help guide new riders away from liter bikes and towards proper first rides.
It was truly a treat for the soldiers and an all around good time. SSB would like to send a big thanks to Kawasaki for its recognition of the troops and to the men and women of the US Armed Forces!
