Following the success of the 2009 tour, where 40 motorcycle enthusiasts lived an unforgettable experience on the scenic roads of the Dolomites, Dainese is launching the new Italian Legendary Tour, to discover one of the most beautiful regions in Italy, Tuscany.
This year the project also has the precious collaboration of Fondazione Sistema Toscana and turismo.intoscana.it, the portal set up by the Tuscany Region to valorise and promote its territory. Through this partnership, the group of lucky winners will have the opportunity to experience the best of Tuscany, having fun motorcycling through gorgeous scenery, enjoying the colours, scents and flavours of one of the most evoked and famous regions in the world for its artistic and natural treasures.
The group will start out on September 13th from Dainese’s headquarters in Vicenza where, after a visit to the past, present and future symbols of the Company, Dainese technicians will speak about protection and will give some precious advice about choosing suitable equipment to offer maximum safety while on the road. The tour will continue through the Po Valley, touching the lands of the great Dukes of the House of Este. From there, the group will pass through the Apennines, along the historical roads of the roaring years of road races, to the Mugello basin, a place of cult for any true motorcyclist. On through the rolling Tuscan hills, the scenery will change again as the kilometres speed beneath the wheels of the bikes. Rows of vines, olives, cypresses, tuff and clay landscapes, an almost lunar scenery will accompany bikers from around the world until reaching the Maremma and Amiata, mysterious and fascinating lands, whose roads reveal a splendid artistic heritage with some of the greenest and most uncontaminated countryside in Tuscany.
Once again this year the group will be travelling in the company of some of the greatest motorcycle legends from past and present: Valentino Rossi, Kevin Schwantz and Giacomo Agostini will participate at different stages during the tour.
Italian Legendary Tour is an ambitious project by Dainese and AGV which combines, in the name of Made in Italy, the best expressions of protective motorcycling culture over the course of time.
The idea is to promote and valorise tradition and excellence in the history of motorcycling through leading players in each field of reference. The leather suits, Dainese protections and AGV helmets worn by champions and, moreover, the great pilots who have made their mark on different periods and left a lasting impression in the memory of every enthusiast.
Important partners in the event this year will be Ducati and MV Agusta.
