(Lake Forest, CA June 28, 2010) Eric "E-Brake" Pettit put in another show-stopping performance at Round 4 of the 2010 XDL Championship at the Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, California, to win the Aprilia All-Star Challenge. Pettit also placed third in the K&N Circle Challenge. Fellow Scorpion-sponsored stunter "Sick" Rick Hart was also on top of the podium in LA, as part of the Team Battle while Chris "Teach" McNeil was in contention throughout the qualifiers for the FMF Cup competition.
"Scorpion rider Eric Pettit may have sealed the Aprilia All Star Challenge Championship for the year by earning his third win of the season," says XDL promoter Randy Grube. "There was no stopping E-Brake! He ran the Challenge course in an amazing 22.69 seconds in LA, the fastest time of the year! Things are sure looking good for Pettit."
In addition to E-Brake's dominance for the Father's Day Weekend festivities, Teach McNeil was in the hunt all day, finishing just off podium in 4th in the fiercely competitive FMF Cup final. Meanwhile, "Sick" Rick Hart was part of the Team Cali Alliance that was crowned kings of the Team Battle. Rick was also on the box in third place for the final event of the day, the aptly named Sickest Trick.
"We are very proud of all our guys," says Scorpion's marketing/media relations gal Suzie Kirby. "It was great to provide personal support to the competitors with the mobile Team Scorpion Lounge in the pits at Irwindale." Now wrapping up its fifth year of competition, the XDL Stunting Championship has proven to be a true national championship series, playing to a rapidly expanding fan base.
"This was a great opportunity for West Coast fans to see the best stunt riders in the nation," concludes Kirby. "Now it is on to the XDL Finals that will be held in Indianapolis as part of the MotoGP weekend, August 27-28."
