All the "Big Daddies" of stunt riding are headed to round 4 of the 2010 XDL Championship series for Father's Day Weekend. Toyota Speedway at Irwindale plays host to the top guns of the sport starting Friday June 18 at 5 o'clock and continuing all day on Saturday. Scorpion-sponsored Stunters Teach McNeil, Sick Rick Hart and Eric "E-Brake" Pettit are expected to headline the competition this weekend.
Now entering its fifth year of competition, the XDL Stunting Championship has expanded to a true national championship series, and more importantly, becoming even more accessible to a rapidly expanding fan base. "Every stop on the tour is now part of a bigger happening in a key market," explains XDL founder Randy Grube. "In addition to the fans on hand in Irwindale, we will be filming for Inside XDL, our syndicated show broadcast on Versus TV." This network coverage for the core 20-year-old sportbike demographic is what made sense for Scorpion to get its claws into this key market niche in the first place.
In fact, the helmet and apparel outfit has been exceptionally well represented in the XDL ranks this season. A number of the nation's top stunters now rely on EXOskeletal protection from Scorpion, including top contender Teach McNeil on the factory BMW who heads the list of XDL competitors wearing Scorpion helmets (get the heads up at www.teachtrix.com). There is a host of others covered in Scorpion ExoWear on XDL tour, including Sick Rick Hart (www.myspace.com/sickrickstunts.com) who competes in Scorpion helmets and the aforementioned E-Brake, who wears Scorpion helmets, jackets and gloves (www.e-brakestunts.com). Both Aaron Twite (www.aarontwite.com) and Josh Borne (www.bornefreestyle.com) are also riders that round out the XDL Scorpion Team.
"This is a great opportunity for West Coast fans to see the best stunt riders in the nation," says Scorpion's marketing/media relations maven Suzie Kirby. "Of course we are headed out to Irwindale to be part of the XDL action for the Dad's Day weekend bash."
