R&G Racing, the world’s number one manufacturer of motorcycle crash protection, has created a comprehensive range of security for the new Triumph Tiger 800 & 800XC*, which debuts an all-new product.
As part of its ongoing pledge to provide as much protection around a bike as possible – and not just from crashes - R&G has acted quickly to produce a thorough range for riders of the adventurous Tigers to stray from the beaten path with peace at mind.
Despite its adventure ‘tag’, the new Triumph doesn’t feature a hugger as standard - this led to R&G creating one for the Tiger as a priority. Made from ABS plastic, the Hugger, £149.99, encloses a large portion of the rear tyre to help prevent corrosive road spray and damaging debris from reaching the rear suspension, exhaust link pipes and underside of the Tiger. Durable and simple to fit, it comes complete with all necessary hardware and requires no specialist tools.
With the Hugger and the suspension-encasing Shocktube® handling any abuse thrown by the rear wheel, the R&G Radiator Guard & Downpipe Grille** look after the front; working in tandem, the robust aluminium mesh items allow cooling air through but prevent bigger debris from causing any expensive damage.
Also available from R&G for the Hinckley machine are Bar End Sliders to help prevent the bar-mounted levers and tank from making contact with the ground, while Fork Protectors, Cotton Reels and Rear Spindle Sliders perform a similar job for the brakes, suspension and swingarm.
R&G is currently putting the finishing touches to its Adventure Bars for the Tiger. The strategically mounted, ultra-strong bars mirror the Tiger’s frame design and encase the three-cylinder engine to offer an alternative level of protection and can work alongside its Engine Case Covers.
Currently in development for the new adventure bike is a completely new protection product from R&G – Frame Skidders. An alternative to the Adventure Bars and different to an elongated crash bung in its construction, these wedge-shaoe solid pieces of High-density polyethylene (HDPE) mount from the frame to help protect the main spars, engine and tank from making contact with the ground. Proven in R&G’s Aero Crash Protectors, HPDE strikes a good balance between wear and friction in the event of the bike sliding.
