Available in the standard “H” pattern, the new police special meet the specifications of most motorcycle officer programs in the nation. The added benefit is that the versatile modular helmet now makes for a 3-in-1 option for officers in the field.
“We had several jurisdictions approach us about offering a police helmet which would combine the features of a full-face helmet with the convenience of a modular/flip-up style helmet,” says Scorpion’s National Sales Manager, Jon Eide. “But they also needed a lightweight ≤ open face model for parade duty… which meant they had to have three different helmets.”
The EXO-900 meets all these needs… and more. A polycarbonate composite shell is combined with a state-of-the-art dual density EPS liner. This advanced composite shell is designed to function in three distinct modes: full-face, open face or flip-up. Speaking of flip-up, the entire chinbar and exclusive no-fog EverClear® shield section flips up as one piece. As an added benefit, Scorpion’s built-in retractable SpeedView® internal sun visor can be used in all three modes.
“Whether it is swapping out the outer faceshield or the entire front half of the helmet, the EXO-900 makes its transformation from ≤ open face to full face modular and back again in less than 10 seconds,” explains Eide. “Best of all, these changes can be made without tools!”
This shell meets or exceeds all Department Of Transportation FMVSS-218 and National Institute of Justice standards (not to mention ECE-22.05 certification for you civilians). As an added benefit for the police, the EXO-900 is also communications-ready for most radio systems.
