How often do you see a high-dollar custom bike with a $9.99 chrome tip from an auto-parts store slapped on the end of an open header for an exhaust? When building the Project R1, we were flipping through SSB and noticed an advertisement for the then new PowerCore GP by FMF for the GSX-R600/750. The MotoGP-inspired pipe is compact with a built-in muffler and upward-turning pipe for clearance. When running, the pipe has a deep, throaty sound without being overly obnoxious. Ground clearance is good, although with a 300mm rear tire our R1 doesn't lean much anyways. The dullish titanium finish helps break up the chrome and adds a racebike look.
