Great mag. The best thing for me is seeing how bikes are modified to reflect the individual personality, or functional requirement of, the owner. It really is an art form, and I get a lot of great ideas. Thanks, and keep it up! I haven't seen many Bandits yet. Although the bike is a little "old school," I think there is a lot of bang-for-the-buck potential for the street rider. It would make my day if you could show pics of my understated GSF1200S.Rick BlincoeSpring, Texas
I just wanted to let you guys know that my boyfriend loves your magazine. He gets it every month and reads it cover to cover. He got me into bikes, so I'm soon to be a rider as well. I think he would really appreciate it if he could see his bike (his other girlfriend!) in your mag. This is definitely the best bike magazine out there. Thanks, guys, and keep up the great work!Kristina AraqueBrockton, Massachusetts
This bike is a 1997 Kawasaki ZX-9R. It's been lowered 3 inches in the rear and 2 inches in the front. The engine mods include a D&D exhaust, Stage 2 jet kit, and a K&N air filter. The bike was completely disassembled and put back together with every piece either chromed, painted or powdercoated, including the exhaust-no polishing. If you look closely, there are five different Coke logos representing five generations of company advertising slogans, including "It's The Real Thing" from the '70s, "Always Coca-Cola," "Drink Coca-Cola," "Enjoy Coca-Cola," and "Coke Classic." The idea for the bike was inspired by a childhood friend's father, who was a huge collector of Coke memorabilia. He was killed by a drunk driver in his mid-40s. Thanks to Kevin Stephenson for the paintwork.Rick SmithFresno, California
I've had 1200 Sportsters and a Softail Deluxe, but the most fun I've had riding has been on my 2006 Buell Blast! I have designed that "Italian touch" into it and renamed it "Scoppio" (that's "blast" in Italian). People stop me all the time and ask about my "Ducati!" I avoided twisties with my bigger bikes, now I look for the curviest roads I can find. I absolutely love this bike! Hats off to Buell for innovation and, above all, fun!Sam BarreseNewton, North Carolina
Here are some pictures of my 2004 GSX-R1000. I did all the work myself, including making the custom taillight. The bike is blue, white and black, and I got the exhaust ceramic-coated and wrapped and added some engine parts and Galfer brake lines, too. I've been a subscriber to your mag for two years, and I've been building bikes since 1989. I did all the mods to this one for under $1,500. Josh ReyesLondon, Connecticut
To everyone out there trying to get a bike who thinks it's never going to happen-let me tell you to hang in there, because the time will come. I was reading SSB since before I ever had a bike, and even though I got my first one over 14 months ago, it took almost a year to get the salvage title sorted out so I could ride it on the street. But it was worth the wait! I got an '01 GSX-R600, and today the bike has all-new bodywork, Lockhart Phillips flush-mount signals, and more. I made the crash cage myself out of $10 pipe from the hardware store. I love stunting and can't get enough of it. I also love your mag and would not change a thing about it.Blake ErdmannWinfield, Illinois
Hey guys, I love your magazine. I started subscribing about six months ago, and I'm hooked. I just recently bought my bike-a 2006 CBR600RR-and I love it. Here is a pic of my CBR and my girlfriend's bike, a 2005 Kawasaki ZZR600.Sean TaylorPortsmouth, Virginia
You guys ran a picture of my wife and I in your January 2006 issue, and we just wanted to update you on what has happened since then. The wife has gotten her Kawasaki 636 Limited as promised, and we recently established a ryding club in northern New Jersey called the Jersey (X-2W) Ryderz. We look forward to getting your magazine every month, as do the other club members. Here is a picture of all of us at Englishtown Raceway this summer.Pistol PeteMahwah, New Jersey
I've been reading SSB for a long time, and it encouraged me to customize my bike. My baby is a 2003 GSX-R750 that has been tricked out. I hope this Down South boy can show the riders on the West and East Coasts that we have nice bikes here in Arkansas, and we love to ride, too.Kevin HuntLittle Rock, Arkansas
I just want to tell you that I enjoy reading SSB, and you are doing an excellent job. Here is a pic of my ZX7 and me during my recent trip to Parry Sound in Ontario, Canada, for the annual Sportbike Rally. A lot of bikes and lots of fun. Ride on.Rafael Olejniczak Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
Here are a few pics of my 1998 ZX-9.The flames are Kawasaki green with House of Kolor organic green kandy mixed in. It also has a powdercoated frame and swingarm and polished wheels. It would be great to see it on the pages of SSB.Geeb Robertson Reading, Pennsylvania
What's going on, SSB? A loyal reader and subscriber here who wanted to share pics of my 2006 Ninja 636 I nicknamed "Satan." It has a few goodies added, including a Hotbodies exhaust, Vortex rearsets, GPR damper, Dynojet PCIII and Pazzo levers. More black parts are still to come. Keep up the great job, and I would love to see more streetfighters!Marcelo LealMiami, Florida
Great job you guys are doing representing the street scene for us riders. You're definitely not anything like the "other" stuck-up, boring-as-hell mags out there-and there are plenty of those! I wanted to give a shout out to Full Tilt Riders Seattle Chapter, a truly fine group of men and women who represent sportbiking to the fullest without acting like a bunch of hooligans. I attached some pics of my '05 'Busa. If you would put them in the mag I'd appreciate it-for people who aren't sure what sexy looks like, just thought I'd give them an example! Will Rush Parts Unknown
I have been reading your mag ever since a friend at Ramstein AB, Germany, showed me your second issue way back when, and I have been buying it ever since. Funny story: I went to read the January 2006 issue and saw that my wife took the mag and drew clothes on all the woman with bikinis on! Last time that happened was when my mom took my Lowrider mags in high school and did the same thing. Women! Keep the good stories coming. Here is a picture of my new ride with future riders aboard: my sons Dominic (2) and Tyler (5). As you can see, from the photo, I'm not a chrome junkie.Jared LandinSan Antonio, Texas
I absolutely love this magazine. My brother and I have gotten so many ideas for our bikes from reading Super Streetbike. Shout Outs is the first section I read to see everyone else's bangin' rides. Some are just aight, but I still love 'em all the same. I have a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R750 with a 1000cc motor, 90 percent chromed out with an MIG pipe, custom seats, Power Commander, and many other aftermarket parts-this bike is a beast! I can only ask that mine can also grace these dope pages that we all call Super Streetbike for everyone to see. I'd also like to send a very BIG shout out to my motorcycle club, the #1 Stunnas!, my big and little brothers, and also to you good people at SSB for doing what you do best. Ones UP!Loyal "Knightmare" ThompsonAtlanta, Georgia
Letter Of The MonthHello, Super Streetbike! I'm an active duty Navy Chief stationed in Japan, and enclosed is a picture of my 2003 SV1000S. First off, riding in Japan is a great experience-this is the one place where mopeds and motorcycles outnumber everything else on the roads-it is simply beautiful! Anyways, my wife always tells me to be careful out there on my bike because motorcycles are so dangerous. Then one day she comes home with a new car-the five-door, four-seat, eight-inch-wheeled death trap in the background of the photo. Seriously, it's barely bigger than my bike-how safe is that! Drop a knee, drop a gear, just don't drop the bike!Luther BaileyYokohama, Japan
What can we say, Luther-that picture is hilarious. Looks like your SV has more cargo space than your wife's car, too! The international shipping fees are going to kill us, but we're still going to send you a pair of the hot new Espada sport sunglasses from our friends at Spy Optics (www.spyoptic.com) for making us laugh this month. Made from lightweight, high-impact Grilamid and featuring Spy's patented Scoop ventilation technology to keep the lenses cool and fog-free, these specs will be perfect for helping you find your way between all those motorized roller skates that pass for automobiles on the streets of Japan!
Department Of Corrections In a picture on page 80 of the July 2006 issue of Super Streetbike, Florida stunter Mark "T-Neck" Martinek was mistakenly listed as being sponsored by HAI Bike Shop. Martinek, shown here mid-circle, is actually sponsored by Warped Toyz Sport Bike Shop (http://speedvixens.com/), not HAI.
In addition, on page 76 of our Sept. 2006 issue we mistakenly listed the price of the Works Performance UltraSport rear shock used on Mike Seate's RC51 project bike as $1,195. The actual retail price of that shock is a more affordable $749. Apologies to all involved for the misinformation.
